Bangkok Classic Car Time Attack 2025
Picture the scene… Dozens of gorgeous classic cars, some race-ready, some restored to perfection, others still doing daily-driver duty, lined up together, waiting for their turn to attack a go-kart circuit in the middle of Bangkok. And just 200 meters away on the same complex, the Thailand Drift Championships, D1 GP, no less are tearing up the tarmac, monster builds flinging rubber everywhere. We’ll cover that drift event in another blog; this one is all about the classic car time attack.
So What Is Classic Car Time Attack?
Put simply, it’s an event organized by Bangkok’s classic car Facebook groups, where owners bring their pride and joy to a small track and set some hot laps. Great atmosphere, beautiful machines, and even an award ceremony if you’re fast enough. Pretty incredible stuff. As always, the event was flawlessly organized, everyone was in good spirits, and people got to push their classic cars as hard as they wanted. The Bangkok car scene delivers again.
Impact Speedpark
The venue? Impact Speedpark. Normally a go-kart track, but rented out entirely for the Time Attack event and honestly, it’s the perfect spot. Food and coffee on hand (coffee was solid again!), ice-cold drinks that are essential when Bangkok sits at a constant 30°C. There’s also a large air-conditioned waiting/function room for spectators or anyone needing a cooldown, and it doubled nicely for the award ceremony once the driving wrapped up.
What Was on Display
There were far too many cars to cover individually, but here are a few standouts: a pair of gorgeous Alfa Romeo GTVs, a MK1 Ford Escort in a stunning yellow finish, a VW Beetle with a K24 swap sitting in the back, a beautiful green fastback Mustang, and of course, the green Porsche 911 and the unmistakable yellow 911 rally car. That very car was part of the Bangkok-Stuttgart Road Trip. I know, insanely cool!

Great People, Great Culture
Finally, I have to talk about the people. Thailand is known for its hospitality, but it still amazes me every time I show up to a car event here. The warmth, the enthusiasm, the shared passion, it’s unbeatable. There’s no snobbery, no judgment, just genuine excitement and inclusivity. Everyone’s happy to see you, and even happier to talk about their car. That’s real car culture: the machines are incredible, but the people who love, build, and drive them are what make it special.
Every event brings new faces, and without fail, new friends. I’m truly grateful to the Thailand car scene for that. If I missed your car, I’m sorry! It was a hectic day covering two events at once.
