HCD Thailand x RennDrive @ The Autonomy

I feel like somewhat of a broken record by saying this, but Bangkok has done it again: an amazing new venue for car culture, and an absurd number of incredible cars rocking up on the same day to share their love and passion for all things automotive. Wild! Let’s have a quick look.

The Autonomy, Bangkok

I guess the location is a good place to start. The Autonomy is the newest (I think) car culture hub in Bangkok. Sitting as a showroom space for B Autohaus and C-Certified predominantly, it also doubles as a huge, mega space for car meets and gatherings. It also has an awesome 6Zero Roastery café on site for that caffeine fix we all need.

The space is awesome and offers beautiful lighting thanks to a huge amount of window coverage on one end. For me, that was obviously amazing as a photographer and videographer. Playing with the backlighting for cinematic videos and using the beautiful contrast for photos was so much fun. I must say that living in Thailand, and especially Bangkok, you are spoilt for choice with car culture locations and meetups that seem to happen every single weekend. Thank you, Bangkok!

HCD Thialand and RennDrive

HCD, also known as Hardcore Drivers Thailand,is a group of guys who are passionate about driving their awesome cars in and around Thailand. I have had the privilege of meeting a few of the members now and they are always so welcoming and warm, as Thai people usually are, to be honest. But nevertheless, I am always made to feel welcome with my camera pointed at their cars.

RennDrive Thailand again, is a group of guys and girls who have a deep passion mainly for Porsche, but also the wider automotive community as well. Similarly to the HCD guys, I have always been made to feel very welcome by this group of awesome people, and the cars that these groups put on show at The Autonomy were nothing short of astounding.

I don't actually know how many Porsches were on display, but I'd have to guess around 30. Along with them were Ferraris, BMWs, and even some awesome 4×4 builds in the shape of Cayennes and Land Rovers. As always, my head was spinning on what to focus on and how best to capture this awesome event. So, I focused on a YouTube video this time around, the link to which I’ll share below.

I couldn’t resist getting out my photo camera setup as well just before I called it a day. Rocking the 85mm, I snapped a few shots of the cars that remained. Most of the guys had left by the time I started capturing photos, but I still managed to get some beautiful frames of amazing cars.

Anyone who knows me will know I adore Porsche. RWBs are definitely some of my favorite cars to photograph due to their wild, wide styling, the amazing wheels they usually sport, and all the awesome small details you almost always find on these builds. So clearly, I grabbed some shots of the yellow RWB that rocked up. As well as that, the classic green 911 stole my heart. I have seen this car a few times now, and those classic lines, beautiful color, and old-school emotion that exudes out of this little car just hit me right in the feels. I love it, so obviously there are some shots of that, too.

Please browse through these shots and videos. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them and being able to see these cars in the flesh.

Thanks again, and see you next time!
