Amata Springs Classic d’Elegance: Classic cars and an event full of class
Around the world, there are only a handful of truly iconic events that play host to the most beautiful and historically significant collections of classic cars. Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, to name just a few. I genuinely believe it’s time to start adding another name to that list: Amata Springs Classic d’Elegance.
From the moment you arrive, the event oozes class. The people, the venue and most importantly, the cars, come together to create something quite extraordinary. It’s an experience that feels carefully curated yet effortlessly relaxed, where elegance is present without ever feeling forced. The quality and diversity of the cars on display are nothing short of astonishing.
My hope is that the images speak louder than words. They capture everything you need to know about the calibre of machinery on show and the atmosphere that surrounded this truly mind-blowing gathering.
Amata Spring Country Club
The place to start, I suppose, is with the venue itself. Amata Spring Country Club is already well known in golfing circles, celebrated for its immaculately maintained fairways, dramatic water features and the sense of calm luxury that the landscape creates. The course is as much a visual experience as it is a sporting one, with every hole framed to perfection and the surrounding scenery carefully composed.
What I hadn’t known about, however and what truly stopped me in my tracks, was the castle.
Rising unexpectedly from the grounds, Amata Springs Castle stands tall and imposing, seemingly perched at the highest point of the landscape, overlooking the course and the surrounding area. It’s not something you casually notice; it commands attention. From a distance it feels almost surreal, its scale and presence more reminiscent of a European stronghold than a feature of a Thai golf club. As you draw closer, its sheer size and intricate form only become more impressive, giving the sense that it has always been there, silently watching over the fairways below.
It is, without question, the perfect backdrop for a classic car event such as the Classic d’Elegance. The castle lends an unmistakable sense of timelessness to every scene it appears in, elevating each photograph and every passing moment. Whether glimpsed in the background or captured in full, it adds depth, drama and a sense of heritage that perfectly complements the elegance of the automobiles on display.
I was genuinely blown away by both the scale and the beauty of the structure and then, as if that weren’t enough, the sight of meticulously restored classic cars lined up along its circular driveway took the experience to another level entirely. Polished chrome, rich paintwork and graceful silhouettes set against the stone façade of the castle created a visual harmony that was nothing short of breathtaking. It was one of those rare moments where setting and subject come together flawlessly. A sight not just to be seen, but truly to be remembered.
The People, As Always, Made the Event
As with almost every event I’ve attended or photographed here in Thailand, it’s the people who truly make it special. Of course, I can only speak from my own experience, but time and again I’m reminded just how warm, welcoming and genuinely kind Thai people are. There’s always a sincere effort to make you feel comfortable, included and happy. Not just as a guest, but as part of the event itself. This unmistakable Thai hospitality is one of the things that truly elevates the Classic d’Elegance to the level it sits at and it may well be one of the very best reasons to already be pencilling this event into your calendar for next year.
A special thank you must go to my friends Mr Plum and Mr Prind, who are two of the event’s organisers and the reason I was invited to spend the morning at the castle itself. I can’t thank them enough for the warm welcome and for trusting me to be there, camera in hand, to capture such a special occasion. I truly hope that the images I’ve taken do justice to their kindness and generosity and that they allow others to take something away from the event, whether that’s inspiration, enjoyment, or simply a few lasting memories.
What really elevated the atmosphere even further was the effort made by so many attendees to dress the part. A beautiful 1960s-inspired vibe ran throughout the entire event, with outfits that perfectly complemented the era of the cars on display. This attention to detail transformed the setting, and in many moments it felt as though time had been dialled back several decades. Thanks to the harmony between the people, their style, and the cars themselves, some of the images captured feel genuinely timeless. Moments where everything aligned effortlessly, creating scenes that will continue to resonate long after the event has passed.
Finally, The Cars and The Event
Inspired by traditional concours and classic elegance events from around the world, the Classic d’Elegance is about far more than just automobiles. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, history and lifestyle, brought together by owners, guests and organisers who share a deep appreciation for timeless design. From immaculately presented vehicles to the period-inspired attire worn throughout the day, every detail contributes to an experience that feels both nostalgic and effortlessly sophisticated.
With its relaxed pace, welcoming atmosphere and unmistakable Thai hospitality, the event offers a unique interpretation of the classic car scene. One that feels intimate, authentic and genuinely memorable, firmly securing its place as a highlight on the regional automotive calendar.
And then, of course, there are the cars. The reason most people are here, and wow. Not to sound repetitive, but I was truly blown away. The first thirty minutes or so were spent simply walking around, slightly overwhelmed by not just the sheer number of cars on display, but by the consistently high quality of every single one.
There were rows of beautifully cared-for Volkswagen Beetles, proud and elegant BMWs, and Jaguars of all shapes and eras. I saw more Rolls-Royces in one place than I ever have before, a truly magical Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, and a stunning lineup of Alfa Romeos bringing unmistakable Italian flair. There were even cars I’m almost ashamed to admit I didn’t recognise. A reminder of just how deep and diverse the collector world truly is. Adding to the spectacle, guests from Malaysia and Singapore drove in with their own cars, proudly parking them on display and reinforcing the international appeal of the event.
Companies such as Collins Auctions and the newly launched Drive Generational also showcased some exceptional vehicles. Honestly, attempting to list every car here would be impossible and probably crash the internet in the process. The scale of the display was nothing short of extraordinary.
Then, just when it felt like it couldn’t get any bigger, at around 3pm the event moved to a second section of the Amata Springs grounds. What followed was on an entirely different level. The number of cars was staggering, easily in the region of five to six hundred vehicles, if not more. A sight unlike anything I’ve personally experienced before.
At this larger location, the diversity expanded even further. The lineup now spanned multiple eras and styles, from classic icons to JDM monsters and some truly unique, one-of-a-kind builds. Even the LRCCC crew arrived in force with their Land Rovers and Range Rovers, boxy, rugged and full of character. As they say, for the love of boxy cars, and I have to admit, those tough 4x4s always add something special to an event like this.
Conclusion
Without hesitation, this stands as one of the best events I have ever attended, not just in the automotive world, but across any event I’ve experienced. From start to finish it was a truly beautiful display, carried by a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and executed flawlessly. It is a huge credit to both the organisers and the venue, who together created something genuinely special.

Owners, organisers, guests and fellow enthusiasts, whose warmth and enthusiasm helped make the event not just memorable for me, but for everyone involved.
