A Surprise Miata Meet at Das Haus ft. BKK Miata, JDM Icons & More

I originally planned a trip to Das Haus this past Sunday with one goal in mind. Catch a glimpse of the incredible display cars from Collins Auctions (more on that in my next blog). But what I didn’t expect was to roll into one of the most vibrant grassroots gatherings I’ve seen in a while: a full-on BKK Miata meetup with an impressive lineup of Mazdas and more.

As soon as I stepped out, the parking area was already buzzing with character. Rows of Miatas in every generation, NA, NB, NC, and ND, were parked up, each bringing its own personality. Some were highly modified track-ready builds, others were tastefully restored examples that looked as if they had just been driven off a showroom floor. Naturally, I had to take my time walking through and snapping photos of anything that caught my eye. With this many choices, that ended up being… well, almost everything.

What made the meet even more memorable were the unexpected arrivals. A Porsche GT3 RS, gloriously dirty in all the right ways, pulled in and immediately stole attention. The kind of dirt that tells a story. Clearly, this car was being used exactly as Porsche intended. Then there was a BMW E30 that I didn’t manage to catch details about, but good grief did it sound phenomenal. Sometimes you don’t need specs; the exhaust note says enough.

But perhaps the biggest surprise of the day was the appearance of a beautifully preserved Mazda RX-7. Nearly stock, immaculate, and gleaming like it had just been unwrapped from 1990s Japan. Seeing such a pristine example of a JDM legend among the Miatas was genuinely special. Cars like these aren’t just machines, they’re part of automotive culture, kept alive by people who truly appreciate them.

This blog was never planned, but after wandering around the meet, it felt impossible not to share the photos and the atmosphere with you. Scroll through the images below and enjoy the shots from this unexpected but unforgettable morning at Das Haus.
